Saint Sebastian Tended by Saint Irene, 1935. Original oil on canvas by Alfons Graber (1901-1990). Huge size, almost 29x43" framed. The style is a combination of modern and old master technique; Graber often stated that his work was a fight between these two periods and referred to his work as neo-baroque (it is similar to, though darker than, his contemporary Marc Chagall.) Born in Switzerland, Graber spent his career in Austria and Germany. There is a museum of his work in Steinach am Brenner at the Swiss / Austrian border. This painting is signed and dated 1935, it is the best example of his work that I've ever seen on the market.
