C. 1850 gilt metal and faceted amethyst glass brooch. The oval amethyst glass is bezel-set, and the frame is particularly ornate with twisted wire cones and remnant of an old gold wash. Measures about 2.25" overall. Condition is excellent with age-appropriate wear throughout.
